Rotation-Angle Solution and Singularity Handling of Five-Axis Machine Tools for Dual NURBS Interpolation

Dual NURBS interpolation has been proven an essential technique for high-speed precision machining of complex surfaces. The solution rotation angles and their derivatives is the basis kinematic transformation feedrate optimization in dual interpolation. characteristics motion five-axis machine tools with different structures are analyzed. A generic model heads vertical tool established to unify angles. Then, a method solving based on vector inner product proposed, space singularity handling given avoid abrupt higher orientation vector. proposed obtained smooth at points cardioid experiment. It reduced time by 43.3% compared simple inverse trigonometric transformation. Experiment results demonstrate that feasible effective, significant theoretical practical value optimizing CNC machining.
